Frequently Asked Questions

Are reservations required?

Reservations are highly recommended. Field & Main is open for dinner, Thursday – Sunday from 5:00 pm – last seating at 8:30 pm. Walk-ins are welcome, based on availability, on a first come, first served basis.

Do I have to participate in the tasting menu?

For a regular indoor or cabana reservation, there is no requirement to participate in our tasting menu or to pre-pay in advance. Tock, our reservation system prompts this as an option during the reservation process but you can simply skip through that screen.

How can I sit at the counter and watch the kitchen?

This is our Chef's Counter Experience - the only reservation where it is required that you participate in the tasting menu and pre-pay a deposit in advance. There are two seatings each night at 5:00pm and 8:00pm with only one party per seating. It is so much fun to watch your meal be prepared right in front of you!

Is your bar open?

Our bar is open Thursday - Sunday from 5:00pm - last seating at 8:30pm. Bar seating is available on a first come, first served basis. We ask that you please check in with the host for all bar seating as our small bar can fill quickly and others may already be on a wait list in front of you.

How do I get a booth at the bar?

Booth and counter seating in the bar is available on a first come, first served basis. If the bar is full we will be glad to put your name on a wait list once you've arrived at the restaurant. Unfortunately we cannot hold tables while you are on your way.

It is very difficult to determine availability though in general Thursdays and Sundays are going to be easier to get a table. The bar tends to fill quickly between 5pm - 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays and then again around 7pm but usually lighter. Our last seating is at 8:30pm.

In consideration of other patrons, we ask that you not book a regular table reservation and then request the bar upon arrival as this prevents others from securing a reservation.

Can I just walk-in to the bar?

We ask that all bar patrons check-in with the host and wait to be escorted to the bar. This aims to preserve the dining experience for all patrons by minimizing trips through other dining rooms, pacing the volume for our solo bartender, ensuring a fair first come, first served system, and limiting the need for standing guests in the bar.

We very much appreciate your patience and understanding with this process.

Is your cabana seating heated or air-conditioned?

Our private-outdoor cabanas are all-season and are equipped with both heating and air-conditioning. In addition, three sides of each cabana have sliding doors which can be opened or closed based on your preference. Our open-air patio offers ceilings fans in the summer and is closed in the winter. Guests are encouraged to dress appropriately for weather.

Is your outdoor seating open when it is raining, storming, or snowing?

We will close our outdoor cabana seating if conditions prove for it to be unsafe for both guests and employees. Guests with cabana reservations will be contacted in advance should the cabanas close due to weather.

Is there an extra charge for your outdoor cabanas?

No extra charge. Just remember to book an "Outdoor Cabana Reservation" experience when securing your reservation online.

There are 6 cabanas that hold up to 6 people and 1 cabana that holds up to 10 people. All tables in the restaurant are seated twice each evening. In consideration of other guests we ask that you limit your dining experience to approximately 2 hours. For larger groups we attempt to allot more time for your experience.

How often do you update your menu?

Our menu changes daily based on availability of produce. You can find a sample menu which we update weekly here.

If you are looking for a specific item we recommend calling in advance to confirm its availability.

Do you do anything special for birthdays?

Yes! We love making your special day even more special. Please indicate the name of the celebrant in your reservation and we will print special menus for them. We are also glad to put a candle and birthday plaque in any dessert you order.

In addition, we offer specialty cakes prepared by our pastry chef Alec. You can review the selection here. Your cake can be ordered at the time of your reservation though we do require a minimum of 3 days advance notice. Custom cakes are also available. Please reach out with questions to info@fieldandmainrestaurant.com

Can you accommodate dietary preferences and allergies?

Yes. We always have vegetarian items available and menu items that can easily be adjusted for vegan and other dietary preferences or allergies.

We are also glad to create a custom tasting menu based on your dietary preference.

Where is parking located?

Our parking lot is located behind the restaurant off of Frost St. Street parking is available as well as additional parking behind The Red Truck Bakery on Main St immediately across from the restaurant.

Are Uber/Lyfts available in your area?

It is possible to get a ride out to Field & Main, but to get home we recommend you plan ahead (24-48hr) with a car service as there is limited Ubers/Lyfts in Marshall.
